Founded in 1972, SAR has grown from a small family firm into a full-service real estate investment, development, and management company specializing in commercial and residential assets nationwide.
Our founders, Sam A. and Frances Ridino formed SAR Enterprises in 1972 in Glendale, California to manage their private portfolio of residential and commercial real estate.
In 1979, the Ridinos relocated to Santa Cruz County but maintained ownership of their Southern California properties. In 1983, their son Robert joined the firm and today serves as CEO, directing SAR’s core management team from their office in Aptos, California (Santa Cruz County).
Over the last 40+ years, SAR has grown from a family firm managing a single portfolio to a full-service real estate investment, development, and management company specializing in commercial and residential assets across the country. A family business founded on traditional values, SAR carries the commitments of our founders into the 21st century environment. We’re focused on the same guiding principles the Ridino's established five decades ago - integrity, service, transparency, and honesty.
Five Decades of Experience
In SAR’s 40+ year history, the firm’s portfolio record includes the acquisition, development, and sale of over $500 million in real estate holdings.
SAR continues our pursuit of excellence while remaining true to our values as we proceed with a clear vision, mission, and strategy to take us into generations beyond.
During this period, which included the great recession, SAR nearly doubled the size of its investment and management portfolio.
During this time SAR Enterprises saw tremendous growth and a newly refined focus on commercial investment properties. Driven by an expanding client base SAR completed a total of 27 commercial property investments during this period.
Building off the small family owned real estate portfolio, the portfolio was expanded to include new residential and commercial income properties. By 1999 SAR had put together it's first commercial retail property and by doing so set the stage for the years to follow.
The early 80's found the Ridino Family newly relocated in Santa Cruz County. Their son, Robert, became general manager in 1983 and took over all day-to-day business management as the company and small family owned portfolio or properties in Southern California.
During the mid to late 70s the Ridino family began what would be a 30 year + involvement in real estate related activities. Starting with some small residential holdings, this small family owned portfolio blossomed over the years into what it has become today.
